Group PT

A “Group PT” class, or “Group Personal Training” class, is a fitness session where a certified personal trainer leads a small group of individuals through a customized workout plan, providing personalized guidance and feedback while tailoring exercises to fit the unique needs and goals of each participant within the group, offering a more affordable alternative to one-on-one personal training sessions while still maintaining a level of individual attention.

Key points about Group PT classes:
  • Small group size:

Typically consists of 3-8 participants to allow for adequate trainer observation and feedback.

  • Tailored workouts:

While exercises are performed together, the trainer will modify movements or resistance levels to suit individual fitness levels and goals.

  • Motivating environment:

The group dynamic can provide encouragement and accountability, helping participants push themselves further.

  • Focus on technique:

The trainer emphasizes proper form and technique to prevent injuries and maximize results.

What a Group PT class might include:
  • Warm-up: Dynamic stretches and light cardio to prepare the body for exercise.
  • Strength training: A variety of exercises using bodyweight, dumbbells, resistance bands, or machines, with modifications offered for different levels.
  • Cardiovascular exercise: Intervals of high-intensity cardio like running, jumping jacks, or cycling.
  • Core work: Exercises targeting the abdominal muscles.
  • Cool-down: Static stretches to improve flexibility and recovery.

  • Social interaction: Provides a supportive environment to exercise with others
